Al-Rehmat textiles started from very humble origins when its founder Sheikh Ghulam Rasool started afresh as a cloth peddler leaving behind all his fortunes in the wake of Indo-Pak independence in 1947. Although, this was a small beginning yet there was no looking back and the rest is a success story. In mid seventies he passed on the baton to his eldest son Muhammad Tahir Nadeem who took on the challenge squarely and led this struggling venture to become what today Al-Rehmat stands for i.e. a symbol of excellence in the cloth manufacturing and processing market
  :: 1947 & 50s

Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, a small trader from eastern Punjab migrated to the newly founded state of Pakistan and started peddling cloth in Jaranwala, a small town in Pakistani western Punjab . Although, he was virtually penniless and had left all his belongings on the other side of the borders yet he dreamed high and had the determination to turn those into reality.

  :: 1960s

In early sixties Sheikh Ghulam Rasool moved to Faisalabad which was emerging as a center of Textile industry in Pakistan and set up wholesale business of Greige cloth at new cloth market near the famous clock tower. The business made enormous progress as in 1969 Sheikh Ghulam Rasool did the concentric diversification and set up a Cotton ginning & pressing factory at Jaranwala.

  :: 1970s

Early seventies were hit by severe cotton crisis in Pakistan , which affected the ginning business. As a result the business suffered huge losses and the Ginning factory was sold out in 1972. This setback affected the financial position of the business but not the entrepreneurial flair of sheikh Ghulam Rasool. In the same year he started the Yarn trading business and set the new foundations of the business.
In 1974 Al-Rehmat got a man of drive and passion, Mr. Tahir Nadeem who made a shift from trading to manufacturing of the value-added products. Much of his efforts brought fruits in 80s when the fabric production facility was added to the business.

  :: 1980s
Tahir worked with endless passion and commitment and drove the business towards value addition, Installed 32 looms, produced special fabric for the filtration purpose for Ravi Rayon and for local exporters as well. In 1986, Tahir entered into the Textile export business and made first shipment to a Canadian customer. The export venture opened new avenues and within a short period of two years Al-Rehmat established a reasonable customer base in USA, France and Belgium. At that time, the product line included Greige, Loom State and printed fabric.

1986-87 brought hard times for the business as the Yarn crises affected the whole Textile sector. Al-Rehmat posted such a huge loss that it lost its material assets except goodwill and market credibility. Tahir handled this crucial situation with great patience and business acumen and started afresh with borrowed money.

  :: 1990s
Tahir bought a new weaving factory with 52 looms and after two months added 20 more looms. During 90s the product portfolio expanded and dyed fabric with special finishes was added in the existing products. New markets were also developed as Al-Rehmat started exporting to Spain, UK and Australia. In 1992, Mr. Azhar joined the business while two years later Mr. Mubashar joined as in charge weaving facility. In 1994, Al-Rehmat qualified as a quality supplier to Standard Textiles Inc. USA and Double-Tex Canada. To satisfy the growing business needs the weaving facility was up graded and expanded with latest Picanol and Sulzer looms.
  :: 2000s
Till now Art was in the commodity business especially; institutional supplies of processed Greige fabric for US exports. At the start of the new millennium the business had grown both in terms of the product offerings and export markets. At that time Al-Rehmat’s management decided to set up a dyeing and processing unit at Khurrianwala, Faisalabad. The intended project was started in year 2000 and completed in year 2003. Later on, to cater the needs of Home Textile products, a stitching unit was also setup at the site.

Al Rehmat is looking at the new horizons and inventing new avenues in the world of Textiles. The setup of a printing unit is planned in the near future. The story of Al Rehmat reveals the fact that we have a solid and concrete base with a mixture of courage and determination. Our present is full of intoxicating energy and exuberant ideas; we are also holding hand of creativity and inventiveness. Certainly, our future will be glorious and enlightening
